Celebrating the launch of a new, year-round cruise service from Baltimore, Carnival was hosting a Fun City event.
9 different “Fun Spots” set up around the Inner Harbor.
The Fun Spots include a Carnival Fun Booth, Sand Sculpture Station, 3-D Chalk Art, Live Music and Dance, a Guinness Book of World Records Beach Ball, and a Camp Carnival Kids Zone.
There will be giveaways, live entertainment, and even an interactive aquarium.
All of this leads up to the grand finale: the arrival of the Carnival Pride.
The Carnival Pride is slated to make its debute on Monday, April 27th.
You can come down and watch as the Pride of Baltimore II escorts Carnivals Pride into port!
The Carnival Fun Booth! – an interactive booth where people can digitally record their own karaoke performance.
Sand Sculpture – an intricate Sand Sculpture of the Carnival Pride created by Master Sand Sculptor Chuck Feld.
Live Entertainment All Day – feature acrobatic teams, Motown-style singers, and dancers from Carnivals ships
A World Record! – Carnivals huge Guinness Book of World Records Beach Ball
Unique 3-D Chalk Art depicting Carnival Prides twister waterslide. Chalk artist Michael W. Kirby will spend several days creating his masterpiece!
Carnival Kids Zone – free biodegradeable balloon giveaways. It will feature face painting, candy art machines, arts and crafts, and games. A variety of live entertainment and music offered thoughout the day.
Be prepared to get wet! Carnival Water Wars, a game played with giant water balloons, will be available.
Interactive Aquarium – a computer animated undersea universe of plant life and fish will react to the motion of passersby. Visitors could also dial a number on their cell phones to create their own, personalized fish and swim them around the tank.
Live Dance Performances – A fast paced hip hop and acrobatic performance group will entertain visitors across from Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Win a Carnival Cruise! Carnival Cruise Ambassadors will be distributing FREE “Fun Decoder” cards. Baltimore Families can register on-line for a chance to win a Carnival Cruise. 6th September 2007 note: I added this video a year ago and I have received amazing feedback about it – it’s wonderful to see how this video touched so many people all over the world. At the time of the upload there was only another version in YouTube with poor sound so I decided to take this one from the box-set DVD improving the video a little and the sound a whole lot – on hindsight perhaps I could have use slightly less video compression but I’m happy with the result.
The original song was taken from “Into the Labyrinth” album – which I heartily recommend, along with the whole Dead Can Dance discography.

February 2009: On late January 2009 I received a notification from YouTube stating that Warner Music Group, US distributor of 4AD – has requested my DCD videos to be blocked due to alleged copyright violation. This surprised me because I wasn’t even aware that Warner had anything to do with Dead Can Dance: being in Europe all the releases I own are marked 4AD/Beggars Banquet. After a brief Google search I found about the WMG/YouTube feud. My personal view and conviction, strongly based on the comments I get on my uploads is that these videos do a lot for promotion, thereby increasing potential profit both to the label/distributor and (hopefully) artist. I decided to write a message to Brendan Perry and he was kind enough to take some of his time to reply me giving his permission for the video to be available again, for everyone around the globe to enjoy.
So, here is is again, still not over, this carnival.

Brazilian Carnival Fun.Carnival Parade. St. Thomas, 2007
The last two days of Carnival are two parades with music, dance and outrageous costumes from the troupes. The Children’s Parade was Friday and lasted 6 hours. The Adult Parade was Saturday and lasted 9 hours. St. Thomas has one of the best Carnivals in the world. Next year, come and join us.
