Carnival Dream cruise ship official naming ceremony in New York
The official naming ceremony of Carnival Cruise Lines new cruise ship, Carnival Dream, featured Academy Award- and Tony Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden in the role of ships godmother. Watch as she swings a baseball bat signed by New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez at a nearly six-foot tall champagne bottle to christen Carnival’s newest ship.
The ceremony was hosted by cruise director John Heald onboard the ship on Nov. 12, 2009 while docked in New York City.

Tour the Carnival Destiny on a “Sea-day” as it journeys back to Miami from the Eastern Caribbean. I review here film from various areas of the 101-thousand ton mega-ship. Meet the towel animal menagerie in Stateroom #1153. Ride the towering glass elevators to the Spa Deck and check out the views of the Atlantic. See the aft pool area’s retractable roof. Enjoy the solitude and watch the surf from the deserted walkways of Lobby Deck 3. Stroll Destiny’s Way past the Millionaire’s Club Casino on the Deck 5 Promenade, view the Point After Dance Club, the Universe Dining Room and the Palladium Theatre. See the Lido and Spa Deck lounge areas without a soul around and watch the dance of lights in the distance as fellow cruise ships “pass in the night”. Arriving back to the Port of Miami still under darkness, we find Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas already docked. As day breaks over the port, we see the open road ahead and disembark, though still looking back fondly at out date with Destiny…

Carnival Dream December 3rd

A compilation of videos from my familys 9-day itinerary aboard Carnival Cruise Lines newest vessel, The Carnival Dream. It was the the Dreams first trip from its home port of Cape Canaveral, Florida. We left Thursday, December 3, 2009, and spent the next 2 days as Fun Days at Sea. December 6, our first port of call was Antigua and Barbuda, a British Leeward Island. December 7, we were at Tortola, a British Virgin Island. We spent December 8th on the US Virgin Island of St. Thomas. December 9, we glanced at San Juan, Puerto Rico, and December 10th, we shopped in the small island of Grand Turk.
The Carnival Dream was beautiful, I enjoyed every second of it, I highly recommend it.

Back in 2005 I took a cruise to Canada on the Carnival Cruise Line. Coming back home to New York we passed the tail end of a hurricane. Everyone inside the cruise were throwing up and feeling sick because the ship was rocking back and forth severely. I though you only get one chance to see how it feels to be outside during a hurricane….so here it goes.
