How much are you charged for using the phones on the carnival cruise ships?

Posted on March 2nd, 2010 by admin in carnival ships | 5 Comments »

I was told I could use the phones they had on the carnival cruise ships but I would be charged for it and I just wanted an idea of how much the charge would be

If you are calling cabin to cabin on the ship, there is no charge.

If you are calling ship to shore… it will be very expensive. But in the case of an emergency, it is available to you.

From the Carnival website: The ship’s telecommunications network offers direct dialing via satellite from the staterooms telephone. This is available 24 hours a day regardless of the ship’s location. This service is closed on the final day of the cruise at 4:00AM. The rate is $6.99 per minute for calls to the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico and $9.99 per minute for all International calls. All charges are billed to the guest’s on board Sail and Sign Card. Since all communication is via satellite, guests cannot use calling cards, credit cards, dial 800 toll-free numbers nor make a collect calls. Instructions and rates can be found in the cabin’s directory.

Has anyone had or attended a wedding on one of Carnival Cruise Line ships?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin in carnival ships | 3 Comments »

Just wondering if anyone has ever attended or had a wedding on one of Carnival’s ships, how was it and if you recall about what time did the wedding take place? I think I’m going to book a wedding for next May and just wanted to know what to expect. Thanks in advance!

i think i would talk to carnival and their vacation planners, the wedding specialist probably can answer all your questions.
best wishes

How were the victims of hurricane Katrina who occupied the 3 Carnival cruise ships treated- like passengers?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin in carnival ships | 8 Comments »

When Hurricane Katrina hit and carnival sent 3 ships to house victims, how did it work? Were they treated like passengers? What food did they eat? Did they get to have entertainment? What rooms were used? Did some get inside rooms, some suites, some balconies? Were they able to use the pool? What was it like? Did they get regular room cleaning? To sum it up, did they get everything a normal passenger would when they stayed on the carnival ecstasy, carnival sensation, and carnival holiday?

Let me assure you Carnival didn’t offer these ships as a "Good Will" gesture…The taxpayer payed a handsome price for those ships, and it was agreed up front the taxpayer would re-furbish all 3 ships.
The ships were completely trashed!
Everytime I turn around, Katrina bites me.. (the taxpayer) in the butt!

How far is the dock for carnival cruise ships from atlantis?

Posted on February 24th, 2010 by admin in carnival ships | 6 Comments »

I am going on a cruise in december and i wanted to know how far the dock for the carnival cruise ships is from the atlantis resort. Is it possible to walk to the resort from the dock?

I just got back from the Carnival Fascination’s cruise to Nassau. You would not want to walk to Atlantis. You may be able to physically do it (but it would be at least a few miles, some of which in a not great area). I believe they said if we missed the last bus from Atlantis to the docs, it would be $4 per person cab ride.

Atlantis was amazing. Pricey, but amazing. We did the shallow dolphin interaction.

What carnival ships should I go on?

Posted on February 21st, 2010 by admin in carnival ships | 4 Comments »

I am going on a few cruises what carnival ships should I go on?

The Carnival Legend was amazing!!! It leaves from Tampa and has an awesome itinerary! When we went on it, it went to Belize, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Honduras. The only thing we disliked was Belize because we didn’t book an excursion, so there wasn’t much else to do. But Honduras was by far our favorite stop!!! We went to Tabyana Beach and it was Heaven on Earth!! Where ever you go you will have an awesome time!!! Cruises are the best vacation yet!!!

Which carnival ships in the fantasy class have been renovated? and what are some of the renovations?

I believe the Imagination was renode about two years ago. I went on her after the redo so I don’t know the changes. It’s a smaller ship but very fun and nice. I went on the Triumph after that and liked the Imagination better.
