What is there to do for a 15 year old on the Carnival cruise ship called Imagination?

Posted on May 30th, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 10 Comments »

We are planning a trip and want to see if this is the one!

There is a teen club on board however I guess it would depend on the interest of your child. If they want constant action then I am afraid you will have a very bored child. We have always taken a friend for our son ( only child) so at least they can roam the ship together( especially on days at sea). They can play at the arcade, and like many of them you just see them walking around and eating a lot of ice cream. There won’t be many channels on the TV for them to watch anything and nothing beyond PG ratings. The internet cafe can be very expensive to turn them lose in. I hope your child enjoys the port stops. I personally don’t think that there’s much a teenage would enjoy at this age no matter where you take them. I see lots of them with their hand held games.
Good Luck.

What is the best way to disembark the Carnival Cruise Ship?

Posted on May 28th, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 6 Comments »

Is it better to self assist or leave the bags out the night before? I’ve seen pros and cons to both and would like opinions. Thanks!

Its bettter to carry them off yourself because you get to leave the ship first, while the others have to wait

Can one buy Rum in the Caribbean and bring it back to a carnival ship?

Posted on May 25th, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 10 Comments »

Buying rum on-shore.

You can buy it. But, you need to "declare" it when you get back on the ship and basically their hold it for you till you get off the ship. Basically the cruise lines want you to buy their overprice drinks so that’s why they do that. Totally bummer!!

Any cruised on a Carnival ship?

Posted on May 21st, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 5 Comments »

I hear their shops onboard "Fun Shops at Carnival" are cheap due to being "duty free and tax free". Has anyone shopped there that can give me an idea of how cheap stuff is?

Yes it pretty good, and Carnival guarantees the stuff.

What carnival Cruise Ship tipped almost over?

Posted on May 18th, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 2 Comments »

It happened a few years ago. It was something to do with the stabilizers and the computer not working. A few of the pools emptied and some people fell overboard. Any1 remember?

I read that the Crown Princess had similar issues in 2006. Princess cruise line is one of Carnival Corps companies though.

On July 18, 2006 at approximately 3:30 pm, one hour after departing her last port of call in Port Canaveral, Florida, the Crown Princess reported "listing" or making "heavy turns" to the port side, about 16-19 degrees from the horizontal. The Coast Guard was contacted shortly after and crews arrived within minutes to assist the troubled vessel. The cruise ship was on its way home to New York City, and the decision was made to return to Port Canaveral due to what was initially thought to be a malfunction in the steering equipment, causing a severe tilting of the ship and injuries.[1] However, it was reported that a junior officer "panicked," then took the ship out of automatic pilot thinking a meter was showing that the ship was turning too sharply to one side. Instead of turning the Crown Princess back to the right, it is alleged that the junior officer accidentally kept the ship in an even sharper left hand turn – similar to over-correcting in a car. The massive 113,000-ton cruise ship listed severely, tumbling passengers, pool water and everything else on board into chaos. [2]

What Carnival Cruise Ship is the best?

Posted on May 15th, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 7 Comments »

I’m going to take a cruise in March and probably using Carnival Cruise Lines…which ship is the best? Are there any ships to avoid? Thanks.

The Carnival Ships can be divided into five classes:

Holiday class – Holiday & Celebration

Holiday

Celebration

Fantasy class – Fantasy, Fascination, Sensation, Elation, Ecstasy, Paradise, Imagination & Inspiration

Elation

Imagination

Ecstasy 1999

Paradise

Imagination arrives at Ocho Rios

Sensation

Destiny class – Destiny, Triumph & Victory

Victory – St. Martin

Destiny

Triumph in 1999

Spirit class – Spirit, Pride, Miracle & Legend

Spirit

Miracle

Legend

Pride sunset 3

Conquest class – Conquest, Glory, Valor, Liberty & Freedom

Carnival Glory

The Holiday class ships are the smallest and oldest Carnival ships, and will be leaving the fleet soon.

The Conquest class ships are the biggest and the newest Carnival ships. Also, two of these ships, the Liberty & Freedom have a large outdoor TV screen for watching movies and sporting events …

Liberty – outdoor screen

The Carnival Splendor is currently under construction and should be taking passengers later this year. The Splendor is I believe a Conquest class ship, though it will be a little bigger.

The Fantasy class ships are all having some major work done on them over the next two years. Two of the ships have completed this make over – the Inspiration and the Imagination. The work includes a miniature water park and new pool deck …

The Carnival Destiny was the first cruise ship to exceed 100,000 gross registered tons (a space rating – not a weight rating) and is too large to fit through the Panama Canal.

However, my favorite ships are the Spirit class (which are the largest Carnival ships that can fit through the Panama Canal and are also Carnival’s fastest ships. I like these ships because these ships are big enough to have most of today’s activities, yet these ships are not too big. Also, these ships are the easiest to get around in when you are on the ship.
