Posted on July 2nd, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 12 Comments »

While the Carnival Splendor left Astoria, Oregon in June 2009, the ship tipped to the left having to go around a fishing boat near the port. As you can see, most of the water in the pool on the Lido Deck spilled and onto the floor and into rooms near by.

This ship is so big!! it has 14 floors or levels, at the top deck there are 2 swimming pools and a water slide, plus multiple restaurants. Food is server all day long. There are other bar and restaurants in other floors. See the atrium in another video, which shows the lobby in the main deck below.

In this video we take a tour of the front side of the top deck of the ship.
There is BINGO with cash prizes of $3000 to 1,000, also a small casino for those who wish to gamble aboard.
This ship travels at about 18 knots per hour, and can travel from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas about 1,000 miles in one day, we made it overnight.

What’s the best way to get alcohol on board a Carnival ship?

Posted on June 22nd, 2010 by admin in carnival ship | 7 Comments »

I’m going on a Carnival cruise soon and I’m looking to bring alcohol in my checked baggage. The drinks are expensive on board, and as a poor college student it’s a wonder I could afford a cruise in the first place. I understand that Carnival has the right to kick you off board, but what are some techniques to safely bring hard liquor on board?

The best way is to buy it by the drink on board the ship! I figure that if I can afford the cruise I can afford to get things the right way. Cruise companies depend on bar sales for a large part of their income, which keeps prices low for everybody, and consider smuggling alcohol to be the equivalent of stealing. You wouldn’t steal a t-shirt from the souvenir shop, right? I suggest that you cut down on your drinking and perhaps acquire a taste for iced tea (included in your ticket).
