CARNIVAL CRUISE M.S. HOLIDAY 2006, Part 1
Our cruise video. Carnival Cruise on the M.S. Holiday out of Mobile, Alabama headed to Cozumel and Calica before the unfortunate return to Alabama.
———-
The video was originally tuned to HOLIDAY by Madonna until someone somewhere felt I was infringing upon a copyright violation and they blocked it. — freakin ridiculous if you ask me, but anyway… This song is not really a great choice for this video but I was tired of searching through Youtube’s available songs to substitute – and I was not about to redo the video – takes entirely too long. Anyway…thanks for listening.

Sticking to Weight Watchers on a Carnival cruise?
I will be going on a Carnival cruise this year and I am currently on Weight Watchers. I plan to stick to WW while on the cruise, but I know this will be very difficult. Any tips or point values for carnival cruise meals? How can I stick to WW while cruising?
Willpower, and LOTS of it! Try to keep drinking your water, eat lots of veggies and fruit, and try to stay away from the dessert cart!

what are the age restrictions for the spa and fitness room on the carnival cruise?
im going on a carnival cruise and would love to know. also, can you tell me some fun things to do on cozumel caymen islands and ocho rios.
Teeth is wrong. According to the Carnival website…
Spa Carnival and fitness center:
Guests under 12 years of age are not permitted in these facilities.
Guests between the ages of 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Age_Restrictions_on_Board.aspx
So you just have to be 12 in order to use it.
Some fun things to do in Cozumel:
It’s your shopping place. It’s a great place to do snorkeling at Chankanaab Park. That’s where the swimming with the dolphins shore excursion is as well. There are a lot of things to do at Cozumel. It’s one of the few ports you can just wander around and still have a great time. However look over the list of shore excursions and see which appeals to you. It’s an amazing port and you won’t have a bad time.
Grand Caymen- I went swimming with teh stingrays at Stingray City. It’s amazing. You are in the water right next to them and they are brushing up against you. It took me a while to calm down and get used to it. You can feed them and even get a stingray massage.
Can relative take wedding photos on a Carnival cruise?
My sister is not a professional photographer but has professional type equipment. Will the cruise line try to keep her from photographing so they can sell us photos taken by Carnival’s photographer?
No, they cannot stop anyone from taking pictures at your own wedding UNLESS you signed some contract saying you’ll be using THEIRS.
If you signed anything when you arranged for the wedding to be held on the boat, you should read that contract carefully.

Can I go to Club O2 on a Carnival Cruise if I am turning 15 two weeks after the cruise?
I’m going on a three day Carnival Cruise with my friends and their parents to the Bahamas. They are 15 and 16 years old so they can go to Club O2. Do you think that they will make an exception for me? I don’t want to be bored without them.
They are supposed to check your age before letting you join. There is a camp director that has to check to see if your name is on their list. The list has all the names of all teens within the ages of 15-17 at the date of departure.
However, if you really are turning 15 that soon after, they can make an exception for you. If you were half a year away, they’d most likely not. First off, telling someone you’re 14 and a HALF is still pretty immature and childlike, but since you are practically a hair away from being 15, they should let you in, especially if your friends are in there already.
The strictness of the camp director depends on the person themself. They could be very strict so that they can’t get in trouble. Plus, letting in someone outside of their age group could get them in trouble or cause complaints from other 14 year olds and the kids in Club 02. Some are also easy going and won’t mind if you are 2 weeks away from turning 15.
An important note — don’t lie and say you’ve already turned 15. They can check, and usually do have to, and have your birthdate on file from when you booked the cruise, since you have to give passports and stuff I think. Just be honest and add that your friends will be in 02.
If they say no, you can still hang out with your friends. Teenagers are not obliged to join the clubs. Their main purpose is to meet new people anyway, but if you already have friends onboard, you can just hang out with them somewhere else. There’s many locations around the ship. You can still do activities together, hang around the pizzeria, go to the spa, gym, pools, and shop together.
Have fun on your cruise! =)

What should I pack for a Carnival Cruise?
I am 14 and going on a 4 day cruise to Cozumel in February. We are traveling with Carnival. I am going with my family? What should I pack? Something similar to a checklist would be great!
Thanks!
The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM. So take: -swim wear (at least 2),
-shorts,
-sandals,
-beach shoes,
-your snorkel equipment if you have it,
-sun glasses and sun screen,
-lotions,
-a cap or big hat for the sun,
-a book if you are a reader, -
-your music player,
-sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym, -good walking shoes,
-your camera, and
-other personal toiletries.
Your cabin will have towels and soap provided, including pool and beach towels. It will also have a generic hair shampoo so you do not need to bring that unless you like a specific brand. They do not provide tooth paste, mouth wash or lotions. They DO provide a hair dryer.
After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports or resort casual" attire. That’s attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, (like a bank employee), shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, etc. You don’t need to take a lot of regular clothes because you will spend most of your time in shorts and swim wear. A couple sets will do.
Most cruises have a formal night when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the ship’s Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. But most people do dress up. You can wear what you would wear to church and you’ll be fine. You will not be denied access to the dining room or anything else if you choose not to dress up.
- Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage.
-Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put your luggage outside your cabin by about 2:00 AM so that they can start taking it down to the lower deck for offloading the next morning. So you will need a small bag for your toiletries and your clothes that you sleep in.
- If you can take a six-pack of bottled water and soft drinks in your carry-on for your cabin. You will have to pay for both on the ship and its nice to have those handy in the cabin.
- If you are taking your cell phone, MP3 player or other item that needs to be plugged in take an extension cord as the plugs in the cabin are generally not in the best places and there are usually only one or two.
- Take a small bottle of hand sanitizer. There are generally sanitizer dispensers at the entrances of restaurants, the buffets and dining room, but some times the are not there or not working. The sanitizer helps prevent the spread of the Norwalk Virus that sometimes occur on cruise ships.
-If you plan to get into the pools or hot tub as soon as you get on ship, bring those clothes in your carry on bag; you other luggage may not get to your cabin until much later in the afternoon.
-Tell your parents to get a walkie talkie to keep in touch with you on ship, and to keep in touch with others. The ship will likely have a teens area and a video arcade that you’ll want to hang out in; so they can call/check up with you with the two-way.
