CARNIVAL CRUISE M.S. HOLIDAY 2006, Part 2

Cruise video from our Carnival Cruise in October. This is video from our formal night and other misc photos. “SHE LOVES THAT PIGGY !!”
—-
This video has been up and around for a while. It was recorded to another soundtrack but someone somewhere felt I was infringing upon a copyright violation and they blocked it. — freakin ridiculous if you ask me, but anyway… This song is not really a great choice for this video but I was tired of searching through Youtube’s available songs to substitute – and I was not about to redo the video – takes entirely too long. Anyway…thanks for listening.

What do you think about the Carnival Cruise?

Posted on May 11th, 2010 by admin in carnival cruise | 7 Comments »

Has anyone went on the Carnival Cruise from Florida to the Caribbean and then back to Orlando Florida? And has anyone brought a year and half baby with them?
What im really looking for something relaxing and stuff for the family.

Carnival is great for families, although I really do not see too many 1.5 year olds. There is a lot of entertainment for people of all ages, and food galore. Beaches are beautiful and staff is very friendly.

Carnival cruise to the Bahamas-Can you go on the SAME carnival cruise just book the horse ride somewhere else?

Posted on May 9th, 2010 by admin in carnival cruise | 4 Comments »

My friend and I are going on a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas. We want to go horse back riding (the one where you go into the ocean) Because I know how to ride a horse, and really want to go into the sea…

(QUESTION STARTS HERE) anyways, is there a way you can still go on the SAME carnival cruise, just book the horse back ride from someone else?

Yes, but
A- you have to find a riding stable
B- If you book through the ship they must wait for your return to the ship before they leave port. (Eg. the bus to the stable breaks down on the way back to the ship)
C- if the excursion is really bad you can go to the ship and demand your money back.( in 12 cruises we have been on several poor excursions, one was so bad the entire group that went demanded our money back when we got back to the ship). And we got it!
Yes if you go ashore you can find cheaper prices, but are they worth it.
The only time we did that and were happy, we and another couple went ashore and rented a taxi in Mexico to drive us around for 2 hours Fairly inexpensive and we saw more than the people who went on the ship tour.

carnival cruise proposal 2009 Chris and Laura Get Engaged!

Laura and I went on a carnival cruise which sailed to the Bahamas from Baltimore this summer and got engaged! This video shows how I proposed to her on the cruise. We were very fortunate to have a fellow cruiser videotaping the whole event. I created this little video to commemorate our engagement. I hope you like it as much as we do.

How to meet people on a Carnival Cruise?

Posted on May 7th, 2010 by admin in carnival cruise | 4 Comments »

Okay so me and my family are going on a carnival cruise (9 days!!! I’m so excited!! :) ) but my sis and I wanna meet a lot of people and Im 15 and she’s 11 so what can we do to meet people like what can 11 year old and a 15 year old do? Thanks!

You should go to Club 02. It’s for 15-17 year olds and has a really cool lounge designed for your age. They play good music, have dances, parties, contests, games (video & board), and lots of activities. It’s also a great way to meet other teens your own age! On the first night, nobody knows each other, so it’s easiest to make friends in my opinion. The longer you wait, the more of an outsider you may feel like. Once you join, you’re not obligated to go to all their activities. You can drop in and out whenever you’re bored. There’s usually lots of other teens there!

Your sister, on the other hand, would probably be in Camp Carnival. Each club is great for their appropriate age group!

There are pictures and information about each on the Carnival website. The clubs look slightly different on each ship, so check out the highlights of your ship and look to see if they posted pictures of them.

If you don’t want to go on the clubs, you can:

- go to the spa (your sis isn’t old enough, but you can go if you go with a parent)
- use the gym
- use the jogging track
- play mini golf
- watch great shows
- shop onboard
- eat!
- sign up for lessons (might be charged)
- watch movies
- participate in contests/activities
- go in the pools/hot tubs
- have fun on the waterslide/waterpark!
- rock climb

I may have listed some things that aren’t available on your ship. I also missed a lot. The carnival website will have lots of detailed information, and you can look up stuff specifically about your ship. Their FAQs section is also very helpful.

If you drink a lot of soft drinks, get a fountain fun card. It’s about 4 dollars per day per kid and you get unlimited soft drinks all week! Normally each soft drink is about 3 dollars.

Have fun on your cruise! =)
You can email me from my profile page if you have more questions.

Which cruise ship is better, carnival destiny or rc navigator of the seas?

Posted on May 4th, 2010 by admin in carnival cruise | 3 Comments »

I am going to be in my late teens when I go on this 5 day western caribbean cruise in April 2009. The itinerary for both cruises are the same yet the carnival cruise is so much cheaper so I was wondering which cruise would be the better choice.

I’ve never been on any RCCL ships, but have heard good things about them. I’ve been on Carnival 3 times and Princess once. There is certainly nothing wrong with Carnival. If Carnival is less money, I’d safely say it’s the better deal. The amenities are about the same.

What is the best way to go about getting a better deal on a Carnival cruise?

Posted on May 3rd, 2010 by admin in carnival cruise | 9 Comments »

I am going on a cruise in the next few months and will be calling Carnival directly about booking (along with talking to TAs and searching online). Obviously, I would like the best deal possible. What is the best way to go about asking for a better deal that what Carnival offers on their website (or deals offered on rival travel websites)? Anyone know of any tips/tricks that have worked other than playing them off one another? If anyone had good experiences with a Carnival rep, please feel free to pass along their name! :)

I have not checked all the various travel sites mentioned above. And that is great advice and all, I’m sure it will yield some rewards. I try the big name travel sites like Expedia, Aol Travel and Travelocity, they all have the same prices that the cruiseline directly gets. Travel agents have NEVER found me a cheaper price and really push for travel insurance and stuff like that. I’m not saying a travel agent isn’t a good idea but they are not going to save you money.

One way I have gotten GREAT deals on Carnival cruises is through Costco Travel. All you have to have is a membership to Costco and the travel agency is free. I have gotten up to a 10% discount on cruises through them. For example, I’m looking at a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean in April of 2008. Carnival.com and all the other sites I mentioned are quoting $1811 for 3 people in an oceanview room while Costco can do it for $1695. Thats some darn good savings to me and I already have a Costco membership. I’ve gone through them before and they were super great as well.

I have not tried any other cruise line through Costco except for Royal Caribbean. They told me Royal Caribbean does not allow them to discount the cruises but they do offer free travel insurance and an amenity basket in your room, so its something.

Good luck!

What are some fun activities to do on a Carnival Cruise?

Posted on May 3rd, 2010 by admin in carnival cruise | 4 Comments »

My family and I are going on a Carnival Cruise this summer, and we want to be sure we do all of the fun activities on board. If you have ever been on a carnival cruise, what are some of the most fun activities??? For kids ages 10-15, we already know bout the kids camp. Thanks for your help. (By the way, our cruises name is Valor.)

Having sailed with Carnival many times over the years I have found that basically the shipboard activities do not vary much from ship to ship. The activities go from early morning to late at night and as far as what the most fun activities are I guess is personal preference. Here are some of the activities that are offered. For a complete listing of the daily activities you will find that listed inside the ship’s daily paper, "Carnival Capers" which will be delivered to your stateroom each evening.

- Water Volleyball & Pool games
- Various deck games: mini golf, ping pong, basketball competition
- Karaoke Talent
- Promenade Parties
- Big Screen Movies
- Jackpot Bingo
- Art Auctions
- Video Game Arcade
- Full Casino
- Various games & contests
- Music & dancing in several lounges nightly
- Shuffleboard
- Jogging Track
- On board Shops
- Books & Board Games are available from the Library
- Swimming Pool with waterslide & Children’s Pool
- Classes like: Yoga, Cycle Class & Pilates are offered for a fee
- Aerobics

You can also stay in touch with friends and family anywhere since all Carnival ships are equipped with an Internet Cafe. Time Plans are available to purchase your desired minutes. Most Cell Phone Carriers are now providing connection even at sea but the rate is substantial. To make or receive a call on your cell phone you will be billed at a rate of $2.49 per minute. Hope this information helps.
