Has anyone been on the Carnival Pride ship lately?

I am going on my first cruise April of 09. We are going on the Carnival Pride.. Our room is on the Upper Deck towards the rear. Is this a good location on the ship? I also have a six and a two year old, is the ship well equipped for young children?

Thanks for your time!

I’ve worked with Carnival for 5 years and worked on the Pride. I can’t remember what deck Upper Deck is … sorry! I think it was 6???? But it should be fine as all the lounges are on 2 & 3 so you shouldn’t hear any noise.

Camp Carnival is an award winning program, you’re kids will be fine! In fact, they probably will want to spend more time there than with you.

Carnival is gearing their ships/entertainment towards family fun rather than being the party boat/booze cruise.

Enjoy!

The ship can handle kids, but can you? I would never take young children on a cruise, that’s like bringing them to Las Vegas. But it’s your vacation, hope you have a great time!

The general rule is that the higher the deck the higher the price. The view is certainly better and you are usually closest to activity centres such as dining rooms and theatres. On the other hand, you get the maximum pitching and tossing up there. Seasoned and well-heeled cruisers go for "midships" locations. Half way along and half way up.)
All I can say about kids is that for some reason or another you see far fewer of them on cruise ships than at the average family resort. But the few that I did see seemed pretty happy. Hope that yours are too. Bon Voyage!
